The Vulture Conservation Foundation (VCF) was created in 2009 as a result
of the fusion of the Black Vulture Conservation Foundation (BCVF) and
the
Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture (FCBV). With
joint
forces and counting with a extensive 25 years if experience in the
conservation
of the Vulture’s habitats the new foundation stands strong for all 4
native
European vulture species, their habitats, ecosystems and socioeconomic
environment.
The ¨
Fundación Biodiversidad¨ made possible the realisation of the project ¨Land Stewardship and Sustainable Ecotourism¨ as was executed by the BVCF in 2009.
The ¨
Obra Social Sa Nostra¨ of the Mallorcan Sa Nostra bank co-financed the project ¨Land Stewardship and Sustainable Ecotourism¨ and is an essential partner
for the
BVCF for all related to the Land Stewardship activities in Mallorca over the past years.
Frankfurt Zoological Society has been over the last 25 years the most important partner of the BVCF.
Their extensive international expertise and steady financial support have been and still is essential for the
development of the BVCF and it´s projects.
The Pastores sin Fronteras foundation of Jesús Garzon supports the Transhumance herders in Spain and the whole world. The influence of the Transhumance practices to the ecology and its direct relation with the vulture´s habitat makes that Pastores sin Fronteras and the BVCF closely work together in their daily activities.
Travel agency
Viajes Isla Fortuna S.A. is the collaborating partner of ProNature travel and responsible for all the tourism related activities. From their office in Puerto de Pollensa they coordinate the holidays reservation of PNT´s clients and many others.
Editorial Alpina produces the only 1:25 000 maps of the Serra Tramunta
na. The company is very environmental conscious to the need for conservation of this sensitive ecosystem and therefore collaborates with the BVCF on the protection of sensitive Black vulture breeding areas in the Serra Tramuntana Mountains.
